Samuel Rojas of Neptune died on Monday, Jan. 9, his obituary says.

Samuel was diagnosed with Sarcoma — a type of cancerous tumor in the bone and connective tissue — in September 2022, according to a GoFundMe launched for his memorial expenses.

“Sammy was only 13 years old just beginning his life,” reads the fundraiser. “He didn’t get to experience anything yet.”

Samuel is remembered as being “full of life and a warrior who never gave up.” He loved video games, candy, and car rides, the campaign says.

Nearly $4,000 had been raised as of Thursday, Jan. 12.

“Despite his own struggle he wanted everyone around him to be happy,” reads the fundraiser. “Heaven has gained another angel.”

Samuel’s memorial was scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14 at Triumphant Life Church in Asbury Park.

“We would be truly grateful with any donation to celebrate his life,” the fundraiser says. “The memories he leaves our family will never be forgotten.”
